I am a designer and urban planner with 10 years of experience working with city governments, real estate developers, and transportation agencies. I’ve worked on buildings, masterplans, and transit infrastructure projects throughout the world. I combine an understanding of the design process with quantitative analysis and knowledge of public policy in order to develop new solutions to old problems, help communicate complex ideas in simple and effective ways, and improve the built environment one project at a time. I believe that:

Good design is about solving problems.

Urban design does not exist in a vacuum. It is not enough to repeat old project templates to new projects. Each project is an opportunity for growth and innovation.

Action oriented people are good explainers.

Taking action requires effective communication .Successful designers solve both the technical and political sides of each project. The ability to incorporate feedback is important but there is no substitute for the ability to communicate your vision in a clear, quick  and evocative way.

Equitable, efficient and beautiful cities are a humanity’s most valuable resource.

Making our cities better is important. Improving the housing, transportation and economies of our cities is one of the most things we can do to reduce emissions, provide economic opportunity and improve the quality of life.
